Your carers, Social Worker and Personal Adviser will start to give you budgeting advice and support as part of your Pathway Plan. When you are 18, your Personal Adviser will also provide you with advice and guidance on your finances and budgeting.
If you need any additional support, there are other resources. Martin Lewis, the 'Money Saving Expert', has created a guide with lots of activities to support you in understanding finances better.
SHAP
SHAP provide a floating support service that enables young people aged 16-25 to develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently in their own tenancies. The service can support you with finances and/or budgeting.
The Steps Scheme, the St.Helens Resettlement Scheme and the Leaving Care Scheme have now all been incorporated into the St.Helens Young People’s Floating Support Service.
Referrals are usually made via Sure Start or Social Services but direct application are accepted.
