Setting-up Home Allowance

If you are an Eligible, Relevant or a Former Relevant young person, you will receive an allowance of £3,500 to assist you in setting up your own home. The allowance is provided to ensure your household items are obtained, such as a sofa, carpets, furniture, a bed etc. How you receive this amount will be documented in your pathway plan.  This allowance increased in April 25 for those who have not previously accessed it.

In addition to the setting-up home allowance, an additional allowance will be provided if you are a parent (or expectant parent) when you move into your first independent accommodation. To be eligible for this amount, your child/children must live with you. This allowance can be accessed no earlier than 11 weeks before the expected due date of your baby. The allowance is to assist with the additional household needs of a child and may be paid if no such assistance is available from other sources.
