What is expected to happen at universal step?

Universal Step: Learn about the child. Improving inclusive practice

 

Assess: Assess child’s learning as described in the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), draw conclusions.

Plan: Inform parents about the impact of your teaching and child’s outcomes. Talk to parents (find out) about the child.

Do: Use audits and review setting’s practice. Attend specialist training (e.g. autism)

Review: Learning environment changed to meet child’s needs, initial concerns solved no need for further actions. Deliver Universal support as described in Threshold of Needs St Helens.

Learning environment changed to meet child’s needs.

No concerns: repeat Assess, Plan, Do Review cycle at Universal Level
