Hospice Care for Children

Children's hospices provide respite and terminal care for children suffering from life-limiting conditions in a home-from-home environment.
Care is provided for the child and their family at no cost to them for as long as is necessary, including post bereavement support.
Hospices are usually run by charities. They organise fund-raising activities to pay for the care they provide.
You can ask your doctor, health visitor or social worker to refer you to a hospice, or you can contact the hospice yourself

There are several hospices within the region :

Claire House

Claire House is a 10-bedded hospice for children with life limiting life threatening conditions and is located in Bebington on the Wirral.
In addition to caring for children and young adults they also focus on the needs of the whole family, providing bereavement and other support for as long as it is needed.
Additionally their 'Hospice to Home' service provides high quality specialist palliative care, support and respite to children, young people and their families in their home environment.
