Who are we and what do we do?
‘The mid-Mersey DCO team are banging the SEND drum to the tune of equity, quality and inclusion. We are a single point of contact in our local communities, offering health guidance and support to professionals and parent/carers. We influence the SEND system to enable our children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes.’
We are all NHS clinicians by background, having each worked as practicing clinicians for over 10 years. Between us we have experience in mental health, speech and language therapy and physiotherapy. Our knowledge of the health services provides the foundations for supporting our children and young people trying to navigate the world of SEND whilst managing health conditions.
If you live in St Helens, Halton or Warrington you can contact us if you have any concerns or queries about your health experience of the SEND system. We make sure that your voice is heard and that you are signposted to the right support. We are here to help improve the lives of children, young people and their families as they move through the process of ensuring that their health needs are identified with the right help and support for their child.
